Brian believes in the significance of creating an autonomous space for adolescents to receive support through talk therapy.

Brian has been working with Togher Counselling Service since 2024. He is an accomplished counsellor and therapist, with a career spanning 20 years. Brian is an accredited member of NAPCP (National Association of Professional Counselling and Psychotherapy). Brian is a qualified Addiction Therapist and is ACI (Addiction Counsellors of Ireland) registered. He is an EMDR Practitioner and Trauma Therapist. He is the Head Facilitator for the Cork City “Aman Cara” support Group, for parents who have experienced the loss and death of their child/ children.

Brian has previously worked with Pieta House Cork with young people presenting with self-harm issues and suicide ideation. Brian believes in the significance of creating an autonomous space for adolescents to receive support through talk therapy. Brian utilises the following approaches and supports during talk therapy sessions: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psycho Education regarding negative thinking and thought patterns, conflict resolution, life skills and education regarding addiction issues, mindfulness and meditation and self-awareness / self-care.

Adolescent Talk Therapy can be of benefit to young persons aged 11 to 16 years experiencing any of the following issues: trauma, anxiety, panic disorder, low self-esteem, grief/loss and bereavement, motivation, self-worth, and family issues.
