Breda’s therapeutic work is grounded in non-directive, child-centred Play Therapy and Attachment Theory.
Breda has been working with Togher Counselling Service since 2024. She holds an Honours Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy from MTU and is a registered member of IPTA (Irish Play Therapy Association). Breda has 25 years’ experience working with children in many different settings, including Early Childcare Education and Special Educational Needs. She also has a Degree in Early Childhood Education.
By creating a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental environment, Breda allows children to express their inner worlds freely and work through their emotions using play as the primary means of communication
Play Therapy can be of benefit to children with a range of emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties, including anger, anxiety, neurodiversity, developmental delay, low self-esteem, illness, disability, bereavement, trauma, parental separation, social difficulties and avoidant school attendance.
